What is Sharks Auskick?

Sharks Auskick is an award-winning development program for all children of all abilities from ages 5 to 12.
The emphasis has always been on having fun while improving a child’s sporting skills, co-ordination, health and fitness, and social skills.
All children, regardless of their ability, are given the chance to learn through play.
They will build on their motor skills and learn what it means to be part of a team while learning the basics of footy.
The Auskick program provides a strong base for kids to move into any sport on a competitive level.

Park Orchards North Ringwood Parish Auskick clinics are conducted from April to August on Thursday afternoons from 4:30pm to 6pm at Domeney Reserve, Park Orchards.

The first clinic for Season 2022 will kick off on Thursday 28 April. We look forward to seeing you there!

FAQs

Who runs Sharks Auskick?
Park Orchards North Ringwood Parish Sharks Auskick has been operating for over 20 years and is organised by Auskick parents and guardians. We have volunteer coaches and parents are encouraged to get involved as well and be on the ground with their kids. Auskick is seen as the forerunner to Junior Football and a place where children can improve their ball handling skills and confidence. The Junior Football Club has teams from Under 8s through to Colts (Under 17s). Many of our children do both Auskick and play in a junior football team, and we encourage this from Grade 2+, if possible, as it is an excellent way of developing confidence and skills.

What age groups are there?
Sharks Auskick provide four groups: Kinder/Prep, Grade 1, Grade 2, and Grades 3-6.

My child is 4 turning 5 this year, can I still register them?
Yes! If your child is turning 5 this year, you can register register them to play Auskick at the link below

What is the format of each clinic?
Each session starts with an address by the Clinic Coordinator at 4:30pm. After breaking into grade groups, children participate in a variety of fun activities, football drills and skill games. We then break up into specially modified football games for safe practicing of their newly formed skills. When the siren goes at 5:30/5:45pm, we meet for encouragement awards from the coaches.

What are the opportunities to play at AFL games?
Each year the AFL invite one of our age groups to play at half time of an AFL match, VFL match or a local football match (this is subject to availability and age groups). More information will be provided closer to the time.
